Holy Mitt

This morning I get a call from my dad, who is at work, and says "Hey, I think Romney is coming to Saint Louis today. Look up when and where and maybe you will get to see him." So we do. We get to Kirkwood Park at like 11:45 ish and he is already up there.

So after he is done saying all of his wonderful things, I rush up there with Jonas and Jacob gets in a high place to take picture.

You can just barley see my head in this one. Anyway he comes over to us, and we tell him Happy Birthday (yesterday) and then we kind of back off and start going back. Then a nice old man next to me said "Are you the baby kissing type of politition?" and Mr. Romney said "Maybe, but you don't look like a baby to me." Then he pointed to Jonas. Then I just handed him over!!!

Of course he started to cry. Leave to my son to look so heart broken when I hand him to the most important person to the political world! Thanks son, I appreciated it. Then he gives him a kiss on the head and gives him back. I start making my way back to Jacob and I see that he has it all on video. Well, come to find out latter that he really doesn't. In fact we didn't have anything of him holding Jonas. But it is okay because a local news photographer got a few shots. We e-mailed him as soon as we got home and got a few. The other one is on this link.
Pretty cool!

City Museum

So, this past Wednesday I remembered this crazy place my family went as a kid once with all these crazy tunnels. I asked my dad what that place was and he said it was the Saint Louis City Museum. So I told Jacob to let us go there that it was really cool and that he would have a ton of fun. Or course I was right. The crazy part is it is right in the middle of the old part of the city. You could live there your whole life and not know it was there. It used to be an old shoe factory and still has that run down creepy feel to it.

Here is the City Museum I remember. You crawl through all of these animal mouths and come out a completely different level than when you started. It was really fun and kind of scary when your 6 years old.

Worlds longest pencil. It really writes and erases.

The giant pencil is in a skate park on like the fourth floor. I know random.

One of the tunnels in the very front you could here music coming out of it and so we followed it. This is what we found at the end of it.The music isn't going anymore but I want to know how they got all of that stuff in there. Seriously a pipe organ.

Anyway all was well but after that I was feeling pretty good about having the baby with Jacob so we decided to try the more adverous part of it. The outside park had all sorts of fun thing. A fire truck, a cherry picker, a tree house and even two planes that were really high up.

So this is all of us trying to get to the top plane.
This is where we are in this one. The top plane.

All in all it was a good day.

Valentines and Gratitude

So, this year it is a little different V Day because I have Jacob home now. When the baby woke up that morning of the 14th I waited just a little while to get ready to start the day. However, my wonderful husband got right up and took the baby down stairs and told me to keep sleeping. Who wouldn't pass that up right? So, I tried to go right back to sleep, but something awoke me. "It's Valentines day!" I would not be out down this time! For every birthday and Christmas and ever other special occasion I have let him have the best of me. Well, I had something over him, Free Time. So I puled out all of the things a had previously purchased for him and laid them all at the foot of the bed. Then went back to sleep. When he came back up stairs to drag me out of bed like our normal Taylor family tradition, to his surprise there was a few little surprises for him at the foot of the bed. But, I was to be outdone yet again. I was so excited for him to see what I got him the I didn't notice that there on the dresser was the most wonderful arrangement of lilies and roses that I had ever seen. Not one but two boxes of chocolates (one from him and one from Jonas, how cute is that right), and a beautiful card with bunch of coupons for all sorts of fun things like back rubs, diaper change, and dinner. Maybe I should just stop trying to outdo him. He is just too good.

 I love my boys!!

I am so greatful for me dear husband. It was two years ago around this time that I decided that I would be with this man for the rest of my life. It seems as though we have grown up so much together since then, and even though we are "swimming through murky waters" at the present time, I have no fears. in our ability to emerge from them a better and stronger family mostly because of Jacob Taylor. He is my best friend and hero. I don't know what I did that made my Father in Heaven give me this wonderful person to share eternity with, but I am greatful for it.

Catching Up

Christmas
It was great. I loved just being home with Jacob Jonas and Dad (my boys). We treated our selves to Wii and some games this year, and of course we got dad the same thing that he got us (that happens way more often than it should). Jacob took me to The Grinch the musical, because it is my favorite Christmas story. That was very sweet of him. After church Christmas morning we got to Skype Gail from Estonia which was really cool. She looked really good and it was really good talking to her face to face, well almost. After that we headed to Jeff City to see Dad's family. It was great seeing everyone and my son was the main event. What can I say he is kind of a big deal. My mom was at the Lake so she came to get me and the baby for the rest of the week. However, after one day the baby would not sleep and I got really sick. So, my poor mom brought back on Wednesday. Jacob was happy to have us home, and he did a great job taking care of the baby and me. Talk about having the best husband in the world!!

Gail sent us a package with a gift for everyone. All the boys in the family got these crazy Estonian hats. They are like 5 feet long

New Years
We went to dinner with our Friends from church and then went to play games with them after. It was the longest Dad has ever had Jonas. I was pretty nervous about it, but it turned out okay. New Years day was just like any other Sunday.

Callings
That Sunday Jacob was asked to be the Sunday School teacher for the 14 years old kids in the ward. He is really lucky because its all girls and a few boys that we still don't know are really in his class or not. These girls are the best too. They are onse that just love learning and love being Mormons and they are very smart. I received my calling a few weeks after moving here. I teach the CTR 5 class in Primary. About a month ago I was also called to be an Activity Day leader. I am really excited about that one. It will be tons of fun working with them and I love that age group. What is the really funny part is I am working with my old young womens president from only 3 years ago. I love her so much and she is everything I am not, like organized and realistic in addition to having really good ideas, so I think we will work well together.

Poor Dad
So about a week and a half ago dad broke his Achilles tendon trying to Basketball with some of the younger guys from the ward. He had surgery on it this past Thursday and has been ordered to stay off of it. He hasen't gone to work since it happened and it's driving him crazy not to be doing anything. However, he is learning how to relax and how to get around on crutches. I have never seen him hurt like this before, but I think the Lord is trying to teach him something. Something like "stop pretending like you're 26, you goof ball." Anyway I think it will be good for him.

One for the Grandparents.

Grandma and Grandpa Lamar with there only great grandchild.

Grandma and Grandpa Kilpack.

I think sometimes that my grandparents have been just as a part of my life as anyone else. I remember going to my grandma Kilpack's house every summer and always thinking that that was the greatest time ever. I have also had more birthday parties at my grandma Lamar's house than anywhere else. They are all old now and looking back I have learned so many things. My Grandpa Lamar is very close to leaving us; he has taught me to never take things too seriously. Grandma Lamar has taught me to remember everything, because she remembers everything. My grandma and grandpa Kilpack have taught me to weather the storms because there is always good things to come. My grandparents in law, Grandma and Grandpa Taylor, have taught me that the gospel is where true happiness comes from.

So now that my parents are grandparents I hope that my kids will respect and love and learn from my parents as much as I have from mine.

Thanksgiving

So, this year was full of travel. When I was planning this week long extravaganza I was hoping that the long car rides wouldn't get to me my husband and my 4 month old son (fat chance right). But I think we did pretty good. Sunday night we deove down to Lake of the Ozarks to visit the Kilpack family, that we haven't seen in like a year. Then on Tuesday it was off to Kentucky to see my mom and little brother and sister. Then on Friday we went to Jefferson City to my dad's family. So it was all kind of a blur from the traveling, but fun. However, I don't think we will do it again ever.
